We began another day of our pilgrimage from Bolzano to Cortaccia by participating in the Mass celebrated in Italian.
We were accompanied today in a special way by St. Maximilian Maria Kolbe, whose feast day we celebrate on August 14. Along the way, we also paid a visit to St. James.
The heat that accompanied us throughout the day took a heavy toll on us.
Pilgrimage teaches us to reassess our own needs and their priorities. It quickly becomes clear that hundreds of things in our surroundings are of little importance and are sometimes even unnecessary.
Cortaccia charmed us with the extraordinary hospitality of the local parishioners… and the taste of figs, grapes, and plums…
We begin the night before the final day of our pilgrimage with the Jasna Góra prayer.
