We spent the second day of our pilgrimage reflecting on the Word of God from today’s liturgy. In the Gospel, we heard about the conditions for following Jesus, which strongly reminded us of St. Stanislaus Kostka. In his homily, Fr. Paweł Białczyk encouraged us to pray for vocations—not only for the communities we represent, but also for the local Church.
In the Gospel, Jesus also said, “Whoever gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is a disciple… will certainly not lose his reward” (Mt 10:42). We therefore believe that the extraordinary hospitality of our hosts at St. Margaret’s Parish in Alkoven, where we spent the night, and of all those kind people who stopped their cars to offer us a ride (and reacted very enthusiastically to the news that we were pilgrims 🙂). Yesterday, one family even offered to host our sisters in their own home, “so that they could at least have a drink of water”… As you can see, today’s Gospel is unfolding right in the midst of our pilgrimage…
After a hot and intense day, which began with the Eucharist and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, we arrived safely at our lodging in Waizenkirchen. We ended the day with Compline together—the prayer that closes the day—and the Jasna Góra Appeal. Please remember us before the Lord. We are also thinking of you. 😊
