Day of Arrival – July 18
Do you know St. Stanisław Kostka? We do. Not personally, of course, but we went on a pilgrimage 👣 in his footsteps. This year marks the 300th anniversary of his canonization 😇. Just like him, we’re traveling from Vienna to Rome. In this relay, we were assigned the third leg—from Altötting to Augsburg. Stasiu set out on this journey hoping that perhaps there he would be able to fulfill his dream—to become a Jesuit. He was very determined in his resolve and achieved his goal. We learn from him how to follow God, and we pray for young people to have the courage to follow their calling 💪. On the first day, we arrived at our starting point, where the symbols of the pilgrimage—an icon and a painting of St. Stanislaus—were handed over. After the morning Mass in Częstochowa, presided over by Bishop Adam Bab, Auxiliary Bishop of Lublin (who is making the pilgrimage with us), we continued on our way, and by evening we were ready to set out on the pilgrimage the next day. We’re walking as a strong group—joined by Bishop Adam Bab and a team of priests from KSM, as well as young people from various parts of Poland. We’re not walking the trail alone either: Fr. Tomasz Wołoszynowski and his team from the Polish Catholic Mission in Saarland are walking side by side with us. Two communities—KSM and the Polish Catholic Mission—have come together on this trail and become one team.
And the handoff of the “vocation suitcase” became a symbol of this unity: what we’ve been carrying since the first day has been passed from hand to hand—and together we carry it forward. All for a single intention: for new vocations and the courage to say “I’m ready” among young people. 💪
We ask for your prayers. We carry in our prayers all those who ask for them—and we ask for them ourselves as well. Because in the work of vocations, no one walks alone: cooperation is needed here—our steps and your prayers together open the way for young people to say “I’m ready.”
Tomorrow marks the next stage—we’re moving forward, still swimming against the current, still with one word on our lips: “Ready.” 🎯
