Day 20. Munich-Maxvorstadt → Olching [21 km]

Today’s distance was 21 km from Munich to Olching. It was a bit shorter, but after so many days on the road, our legs know full well that we’ve really put in the miles!
This morning we set out from the Polish Catholic Mission in Munich—a huge thank you for the wonderful welcome, warmth, and open hearts!
Today’s theme is: “Your Mother is Our Mother.” Throughout the day on the road, we were accompanied by the thought that on this pilgrimage—and in life in general—we are not alone. We have a Mother to whom we can always turn. In this spirit, we prayed fervently today for new vocations—to the priesthood, to religious life, but also simply to a good, meaningful life, whether in marriage or as a single person. For how can we live this life well if not by responding to God’s call?
It’s also amazing how closely we’ve already bonded with one another. From a group of people, many of whom did not know each other before, we have today formed one large, close-knit pilgrimage family. We help one another along the way, share what we have, laugh, and bear this hardship together.
St. Stanislaus Kostka was not afraid to follow his calling across all of Europe, and as we follow in his footsteps on the 300th anniversary of his canonization, we are learning that same courage with the help of our Blessed Mother.
We’ve arrived in Olching—tired, but very happy!
