Another day of our pilgrimage from Vienna to Rome for the intention of vocations is behind us! 🙏🚶♂️
We set out from Melk to Persenbeug. This stage was one of the easier ones—we had “only” 24 km to cover, so we didn’t hit the road until around 11:00 a.m. We also couldn’t arrive too early, since our host, Andreas, didn’t finish work until 6:00 p.m. and could only welcome us then. Since there was no need to rush, we had time along the way for a hearty Viennese schnitzel, and some of us even treated ourselves to a really good steak. 🥩😋
The Danube accompanied us for most of the route. At first we walked in the rain, and later—already in full sunshine—we were able to admire its beauty and enjoy the tranquility of the journey. A reading from the Book of Hosea led us to reflect on the image of a “divided heart.” Am I devoting too much attention to the opinions of others, money, or everyday matters, leaving only what’s left over for God? What can I do to make my heart truly free? To make it completely God’s?
