Day 57. Badia Prataglia → Chiusi della Verna [32 km]

The seventh day of the pilgrimage. We’ve arrived in La Verna!

After six days of walking, it was time for the final leg of our pilgrimage in the footsteps of St. Stanislaus Kostka. After the challenging previous day, today’s route was definitely easier. We covered 22 kilometers and reached our destination—La Verny.

Once again, the path led us through beautiful mountainous terrain. Along the way, we also encountered other pilgrimage routes and pilgrims heading in various directions. Brief greetings, smiles, and the awareness that people carrying their own intentions were walking alongside us made for a beautiful experience on the final day of our journey.

After 22 kilometers, we arrived at La Verny. It was here that the walking leg of our pilgrimage came to an end.

Behind us lay seven days of walking together—hundreds of kilometers, the heat, mountain climbs, fatigue, but also many conversations, encounters, mutual support, and shared prayer. Throughout the journey, we carried the main intention of our pilgrimage: a prayer for new vocations and for the courage of young people to respond to God’s call.

Reaching La Verna, however, does not mean we stop thinking about the next journey. Already today, the young people have suggested starting next year’s pilgrimage right here—in La Verna—and setting out from there.

We conclude this stage with immense gratitude: for every kilometer, for the people we met along the way, for the hospitality we experienced, for the community, and for the prayer that accompanied us every day.

After seven days on the road, we arrived at La Verna. Our goal has been reached—but the journey continues.
