We began today’s stage before dawn. Despite our fatigue and the heat, we were filled with joy, because we were going to see St. Peter’s Basilica today. The first few hours of our journey took us through Monterotondo as it was waking up. Before noon, we entered the outskirts of Rome and reached the Basilica of St. Agnes Outside the Walls.
Holy Mass was celebrated at the Church of Santo Spirito. Afterward, everyone had a chance to rest and enjoy the charms of the Eternal City.
Tomorrow we’ll undertake the shortest leg of our pilgrimage, which is also the destination of our entire relay pilgrimage—we’ll reach the tomb of St. Stanislaus Kostka on the Quirinal Hill.
