The second day of our pilgrimage is behind us. We began the day with communal adoration and Holy Mass in the monastery chapel of the Salesian Sisters. In Rottenbuch, we were met with the warm hospitality of the Bavarians. After breakfast, we set out on a roughly 30-kilometer hike to Ettal. The high temperatures were tempered by the picturesque mountain scenery and rivers. We also had the opportunity to experience walking on water (through the water), which reminded us of today’s Gospel and of asking the Lord to instill courage in the hearts of young people, so that they may not be afraid to respond to His invitation to step out of their comfortable boat of life and follow Him wherever He invites them.
