Stage Nine, Day Two.
We began the day with the Eucharist and, full of energy, set out on the trail. And when “Barka” rang out, we felt even more strongly that this pilgrimage is an invitation to set out on a journey—not only the one we travel on foot, but above all the one along which God leads us in our hearts
Throughout the pilgrimage, we are accompanied by conversations, getting to know one another, and above all, prayer for new vocations.
On the second day, we walked 17 kilometers from Pieve Santo Stefano to Sansepolcro, a beautiful, historic town in the heart of the Tuscan Valtiberina. Its roots are tied to the tradition of two pilgrims who, upon returning from the Holy Land, stopped here; over time, a town named “Holy Sepulcher” grew up around the place of prayer.
In the evening, some of the pilgrims went to the Eremo di Montecasale—a place hidden among green forests that exudes an extraordinary Franciscan atmosphere.
More days and more kilometers lie ahead of us. Destination: Assisi.
