Day 69. Rieti → Poggio Moiano [29 km]

We set out from Rieti at 6:00 a.m. The journey was uneventful, but a storm caught us at our first rest stop. The weather changed, and although it didn’t rain afterward, the temperature became more favorable for continuing our hike. It was a difficult day because, with fatigue mounting, we covered 32 km. And since some of us took a wrong turn and had to get back on the right trail, the journey became even longer. This pilgrimage experience certainly teaches us to take a deeper look at life, because here we come face to face with our weakness and fatigue, and every wrong path we take comes at a high cost.

In the afternoon, we arrived in Poggio Moiano. The closing Mass was presided over by Father Wojciech Kruszewski, and the homily was delivered by Deacon Jakub Ciesielski, who emphasized that gratitude and openness are the foundation upon which true love is built.

Today, a delicious lasagna awaited us for dinner, after which—exhausted from the whole day—almost all of us went to bed almost immediately.
